The chief executive officer of the Central Land Council, Les Turner, says the four land councils in the Northern Territory have a strong position on the VOICE to parliament going back to the Brumby Plain statement, the Barunga statement, and the Kalkaringi Meeting where they affirmed their support for it. Mr Turner says part of the CLC’s role is to talk to their constituents and advocate in terms of the VOICE to parliament or the referendum… and they’ll be doing that as part of their advocacy role.

“We’ve got 15 different language groups in our region; at the moment we’ve translated the message which explains what the referendum is, what the Voice is and talks a bit about the YES and the NO vote.”

Arrernte man, Les Turner, born and raised in Mparntwe/ Alice Springs joined Floyd Doyle in the CAAMA studio.
