Hundreds of Aboriginal people from Mpartnwe / Alice springs,local town camps and surrounding communities have attended a highly successful community gathering to progress and develop a culturally appropriate response to address the wide range of issues impacting across all of Central Australia.
The meeting which lasted for more than three hours attracted a diverse range of Aboriginal people, including local Arrernte Elders, community group representatives and leaders from other communities including Yuendumu and Lytente Apurta
Local Arrernte man Declan Furber- Gillick a co organiser of the Aborignal community gathering said there was still a great deal of work to be done before a final statement can be made on behalf of all Aboriginal people in Central Australia.
