PIONEER has claimed its 32nd premiership after beating South Alice Springs in a thrilling Men’s Grand Final.
Pioneer had to withstand a big comeback from South in the last 20 minutes after dominating the second and third quarters and taking a 22-point lead into the last term.
A South shot for goal from 65 metres out to win the game after the siren did not make the distance leaving South five points short.
Pioneer which won its first flag in 1947 celebrates its first flag in 12 years with its 32nd premiership in the league’s 75th anniversary in 2022.
