CAAMA Radio produces two local news bulletins airing at 12pm and 6pm every weekday, and our entire bulletin can be heard online.

In today’s bulletin:

  • A growing number of Australians are identifying as indigenous.
    According to the latest census data, more than 812,000 people identify as Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander or both. That’s an increase of 25% since the last census in 2016.
  • The new federal government has started to make moves to scrap the card after a recent report from the National Audit Office found no evidence it was making its intended objective.
  • A leader in a youth program based in Don Dale which has expanded in other cities, says there are many positive stories about gaining fitness and avoiding a life of crime.
