Karen Wyld: Telling the stories of our heroes

Martu author Karen Wyld has completed her first children’s book which looks into the stories behind many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heroes in our country’s history.

The book includes the inspirational stories of Darug woman Patyegarang, who taught a British Officer words from local Aboriginal languages, and Yarri and Jacky Jacky, who rescued sixty nine people during the 1852 Gundagai floods.

CAAMA’s Philippe Perez spoke to Karen Wyld about her new book and these new exciting stories (audio below).
