- Former NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner resigned from the job on Tuesday, saying he would like to spend more time with his family. He will still remain a member for Fannie Bay.
- The NT Budget was also handed down with more investment into policing, expanding detention centres and hospital investments.
- The federal government has also pledged to make more investments into telecommunications throughout northern Australia, including installing new towers in parts of remote NT.
