Aboriginal people in South Australia are back on the political agenda

Aboriginal people in South Australia are back on the political agenda following the removal of the  Marshall Liberal Government and the push for  state based voice, treaty and truth by new Labor Premier  Peter Malinauskas.

Mr Malinauskas opened his victory speech by acknowledging he was  on Aboriginal land…. saying that  for the first time in the history of the state  an initiated Aboriginal man will lead  Aboriginal affairs.

I think there is,quite rightly as there should be, a big expectation from Aboriginal people on what Labor is going to do- Kyam Maher.

Kyam Maher who served as South Australian Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation in the  Weatherall Labor Government  says the new Premier is committed to the process of truth, treaty and a voice. Speaking on CAAMA Radio Mr Maher  said  Aboriginal people have to be at the  forefront of driving and designing the policies that will impact them into the future.
