Hundreds of people from all walks of life joined together in Mpartnwe Alice Springs to pay their final respects to the late Dr.Rosalie Kunoth Monks before she is returned to country for burial.
Family, politicians. educators and lifelong friends attended the State Memorial Service which was held at the Desert Peoples Centre south of Alice Springs.
The Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner captured the essence of the late Dr Kunoth-Monks in his eulogy…..as did Director of the Graduate School at the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education, Kathryn Gilbey who also shared fond memories of the proud Arrernte /Alyawarre icon.
