A new book released this month explores the possibilities of First Nations people standing ground against the barriers put up from a colonised society.
Professor Chelsea Watego has recently written Another Day In The Colony, which is a collection of essays exploring some of her personal experiences in keeping her black culture alive in many settings, from academia to the media to the justice system.
The new book sets out to expose lies settlers tell about Indigenous people and then tells us her own stories in her own personal way.
She currently is a Professor of Indigenous Health at the Queensland University of Technology and has written extensively for Indigenous X, The Guardian, and many other publications.
She speaks here with CAAMA’s Philippe Perez (audio below).
