NT Correctional Services say they would like to see Aboriginal people take up roles as correctional officers at the Alice Springs Detention Centre and Barkly Work Camp.

Superintendent Bill Carroll and several others from correctional services held several information sessions throughout Mbantwe Alice Springs earlier this month and are keen to hear from more people who are considering a career in Corrections.

Superintendent Carroll says they are keen to see First Nations men and women motivated to register their interest and assist fellow countrymen in the prison system.

He spoke to CAAMA’s Philippe Perez (audio below).

Those who are not able to make the sessions can also send an email to the Corrections recruitment team on NTCS.Recruitment@nt.gov.au
