On Thursday July 22, CAAMA headed to Tennant Creek to celebrate the launch of the Literacy For Life campaign. The Aboriginal-led charity has launched a new hub in the town which will see classes and workshops aimed to improve the literacy rates in the Barkly.
The foundation – which is predominantly based in remote NSW, but also has a campaign location in Ltyentye Apurte – is also currently looking to grow the campaign nationally, with a local steering committee in each location.
The Foundation also looks to hire local Aboriginal staff in each location. Below are photos we took at our live broadcast. Audio from the event is coming soon.
