Strong Voices: Shadow Minister for Aboriginal Affairs discusses latest death in custody

Just over a week ago saw the ninth death in custody of an Aboriginal person since March. Wiradjuri woman and the Shadow Minister for Indigenous Affairs Linda Burney says more measures need to be in place to give better communications between jails and families over conditions.

We take a look at the significant story of Alyawarra leader Banjo Morton, who led a walk off of stockmen, taking a stand against stolen wages back in 1949 at Lake Nash here, and led another walk off in 2009 due to the NT Intervention.

And the 30th Cost of Living Report released earlier this week from the Northern Territory Council of Social Service – NTCOSS shows that as more and more services move online, many Territorians – especially from remote communities are struggling to afford their telecommunications.
